One way to measure success is to be true to yourself. On the path to achievements, let your work be a reflection of who you are as a person or business. For the last six decades, Rural Plumbing and Heating Inc., found a route to success with that philosophy. Be authentic.
Since 1947, Rural Plumbing & Heating provides quality work always putting the customer first. After 66 years in business, the company is a tried and true. Founded by the Nivisons, the family moved their basement business into a custom-built facility in Raleigh in 1962.
Operating out of the same 20,000 square-foot facility today, Rural Plumbing & Heating has grown to serve the Triangle (NC) and surrounding areas with a fleet of service vehicles. Ruth Nivison and president Jeff Liles invited me into the historic building to detail how the company evolved over the years.
“We’ve been in business since 1947,” Liles stated. “The very fact we have been around this long demonstrates that we are dependable. The customer always comes first. We’ve carried the vision of the Nivison’s into our work today.”
The vision includes the installation and replacement of modern plumbing, heating and air conditioning in new homes and small commercial buildings. In addition, Rural Plumbing & Heating features a service department and fabrication shop. Available 24 hours a day seven days a week, the years of experience and expertise allow the company to handle any job big or small.
“We use our longevity to our advantage,” Liles continued. “We are going to shoot you straight, we are not going to sell you something you don’t need. Our technicians are very knowledgeable.”
The company demonstrates that expertise by allowing customers to easily view energy cost comparisons and schedule appointments online. Rural Plumbing & Heating encourages every customer to participate in a quick satisfaction survey to help improve their services. The glowing testimonials are a reflection of Liles and his staff’s genuine mentality.
“We’ve relied on word of mouth business for years,” said Liles. “Our mainstay is our service department. We offer monthly specials and standard service agreements for preventative maintenance. It allows our technicians to inform the customer of new efficiencies."
Over the years, Rural Plumbing & Heating have adapted to changes in the industry that are a benefit to home or business owners. Liles continued, “we have seen the industry shift towards green initiatives. Our technicians must stay on top of new technology because there is more efficient equipment. On the HVAC side, we have seen more and more remote thermostats in homes. I really believe that is going to be the way of the future.”
To keep up with the way of the future, Rural Plumbing & Heating technicians use mobile technologies to capture notes and photos of every interaction with the customer. Liles expounded, “if a technician comes across an unfamiliar situation, a photo allows us to provide guidance without making a trip to the job site. It can be very valuable.”
Rural Plumbing & Heating is worthy of your belief and trust. The countless years of work and service make it evident. It’s authenticated year after year. Customer after customer.
